On October 15, 2024, both the Tata Curvv EV and Curvv ICE (petrol-diesel) models underwent crash safety testing by Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program), where both models achieved a 5-star safety rating.
Currently in India, Tata’s Nexon, Punch, Harrier, Safari, and now Tata Curvv have all earned 5-star safety ratings, making them some of the safest cars on the market. The Curvv received its 5-star rating after undergoing various crash tests by BNCAP. Let’s explore the criteria used to evaluate these safety ratings.
Tata Curvv Crash Safety Test Process
According to Bharat NCAP, the Tata Curvv EV and ICE models have undergone crash tests to assess the safety of passengers during a collision. These tests determine how well the car protects passengers in the event of an impact, providing insights into the level of safety after a crash.
And Tata Motors has already equipped the Curvv with advanced safety features such as ADAS, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, all-wheel disc brakes, reverse parking sensors with a 360-degree camera, and Electric Parking Brake (EPB) with an auto-hold function, among many others. With these features in place, the chances of an accident happening are significantly reduced.
“Tata Curvv received a 5-star crash safety rating by securing high scores in both adult and child safety tests.”
Tata Curvv (EV+ICE) Adult Safety
The Tata Curvv EV and ICE variants scored 30.81 points out of 32 in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) test.
For this test, 16 points are allotted to the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test, in which Tata Curvv scored 15.66 points, and another 16 points are for the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test, where Tata Curvv scored 15.15 points. More details about these tests are provided below.
Tata Curvv Child Safety Rank
Tata Curvv received 44.83 points out of 49 in the Child Occupant Protection (COP) crash test, successfully passing the child safety test. This test also includes several subcategories, where it achieved a dynamic score of 23.83/24, a CRS installation score of 12/12, and a vehicle assessment score of 9/13, which is considered excellent.
